CCPA conducted a 3 day Youth camp in Iraq

From August 28th to August 31st 2013 Cross Cultures invited our regional coordinators of the OD-program with the purpose to further develop youth activities and association building in Iraq.

The program consisted of workshops, and they were as follow;

-Interview workshop (focus on the meaning)
-Value Game (Which values can we as people and and organization relate to)
-Communication (Facebook etc.)

We had some great workshops, with a lot of interesting topics and inputs. Our group of young coordinators did show a lot of engagement and drive, that showed us that the future looks bright for the Iraqi youth, especially when we have people like this working for the association.

The participants consisted of delegates from these following regions:

-Baghdad (4 participants)
-Sulaymaniyah (3 participants)
-Basra (2 participants)
-Fallujah (3 participants)

The participants showed dedication and shared knowledge across the different regions, that was followed by interesting debates. The participants were interested in learning more about the challenges and strengths of the other parts of the country and there was a lot of suggestions on how to solve the various challenges. They were interested to implement the strengths of the other regions to their own region and collectively develop into a well-functioning society, where everyone is active in the community.

The camp created camaraderie between the coordinators of different sects and ethnicities; it showed them that the problems of their own respective region, is a collective problem for everyone. This inspired them to go into the program as soon as possible, spreading the word about it and make it happen.
