CCPA COPENHAGEN BOARD VISIT TO SARAJEVO

BOARD MEMBERS VISIT CCPA

Copenhagen Board members visited Bosnia and Herzegovina from May 29th-31st 2013. This visit was a first Board visit to one of CCPA – OFFS countries.
Board members, who visited BH are : Mr. Finn Bergen – President, Gerlev Sports Academy, Mr.Jens Christensen – former Ambassador, Mr. Niels Ersboll- former Ambassador and General secretary of Council of Europe, Mr. Torben Jacobsen – Senior conslutant at CARE4YOU NGO, Mr. Niels Helveg Petersen – former Danish minister of foreign affairs, Mrs. Mette Holm – diplomatic correspondent , specialized in Asia and human rights, Mr. Goran Fazlinovi? – Community worker and SSP counsultant, Mrs. Jorgen Hvidemose – City councelor, Edegal municipality and former coach of Female national football team, Mr. Niels Nygaard – President of Danish sports confederation and Mr. Agner Ahm – former editor od Danish national newspaper Politiken.
Other than Board members, CCPA -OFFS BH office was visited also by CCPA CEO Mr. Anders Levinsen, Mrs. Stina Wahl – financial manager and Mrs. Ayse Kosar – SSP consultant.

PROGRAM OF THE VISIT

Program of the Board visit was completely full. Meetings with local and international community representatives were organized, visits to sites in Sarajevo, joint working dinners, visit to the display Open fun football school, as well as a discussion with local government representatives. Board member also visited CCPA – OFFS BiH office, where they were welcomed, and heard the presentation about the program and many years of it’s implementation and results in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

VISITS TO THE INSITUTIONS

Several working meetings were held during the visit of the Board. Board visit was used to set up meetings with relevant representatives of both local and international organizations and insitutions.

Therefore, the meeting was held with Mr. Peter Sorensen, EU Ambassador to BH. SSP program was presented to Mr. Sorensen, who found it interesting and relevant. Mr. Sorensen’s councelors advised Board members on ways to approach EU grants.

Other meetings were held in Olympic comitee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Football Association of BH. In these meetings, the relevance of the Open Fun Football Schools program to overall development of the sport in BH was emphasized.

Meeting in the Embassy of the United States of America gave an encouragement for countinuation of the SSP initiative. US Embassy fully supports the SSP project, and guidelines to applying for funds in the future were given.

Bus transport of the Board members, during the stay in BH, was provided by the FA BH.

DISPLAY OFFS KOSOVA-MAGLAJ

As part of the Board visit program, a display OFFS has been organized in a small place Kosova, in municipality Maglaj.

School was organized on May 30th, on FC ‘Vis’ pitch in Kosova, and our network of instructors, leaders, coaches and assitants organized and implemented all activities very well.

Municipalities Maglaj, Žep?e i Zavidovi?i are traditionally CCPA – OFFS members and good cooperants and school organizers, and this time they showed how municipality mayors and their advisors, CCPA – OFFS staff, parents and citizens want and can organize a very good sports event for children and youth of the community.

It was really nice to see over 240 boys and girls enjoy the games and Fun Football, inspite of rain, together with their dedicated leaders and coaches.

Total of 240 children, aged 7-14 years, out of wich 98 girls, participated. Schools was attended by 10 boys and girls from a Day care center in Maglaj.

Work with children was implemented by a total of 44 leaders, coaches, assitants and workshop leaders!

WORKSHOPS

As part of the display OFFS, three workshops were implemented. Topics were : – Sport + School + Police – Healthy nutrition – Environment -ecology School and workshops were attneded by municipality mayors and their advisors: – Žep?e, Mr. Mato Zovko and colleagues Suad Dizdarevi?, Boris Sovi? and Suvad Hodži? – Zavidovi?i, Mr. Omeraševi? Suad and colleagues Ferid Beši? and Edin Bukvi? – Maglaj, Mr. Mehmed Mustabaši? and colleagues Alen Musi?, Enver Softi? and Osman Mujdža

CONCLUSIONS

As school finished, all leaders, coaches and guests were invited to a joint, working lunch. During the discussions, emphasis was on the very good cooperation of CCPA OFFS with three municipalities and possible means of future cooperation. After greeting speeches by Board members, municipality and police representatives, the discussion was held on relevance of the SSP program, and its countinuation in municipalities Maglaj, Žep?e and Zavidovi?i. Since these three municipalities were marked as extremely successful in SSP program implementation, a desire and a wish for the countinuation of the initiative has been expressed several times.

In a light of this, a discussion was held on the ways to approach local and state funds, and it has been concluded that for this purpose, a Letter of mutual intent will be signed between 11 SSP municipalities and CCPA OFFS, for the purposes of further development and implementation of the SSP initiative. It has been concluded that Letter will be drafted by CCPA OFFS BH, and municipality mayors of 11 municipalities will sign it, and letter will be used as a recommendation in the application processes.

Final Board meeting was held in Hotel Terme on May 31st. Gratitude to CCPA OFFS BiH staff members was expresed, for the successfull organization of the meeting and display activities. Board has received a report on serious financial situation of CCPA -OFFS, specially departments in Balkan. In this sence, it has been concludet that Board members will activate connections with former program donors in Danish government and other Nordic countries, for the purpose of finding new resources and funding opportunities, specially for the SSP program.
