In cooperation with the Danish-Arab Partnership Program’s youth partners CCPA had an interview workshop with Danish and Arabic youth at the Democratic Youth Meeting (Danish: Ungdommens Folkemøde) in the Valby Park last week. The young people should interview each other on a number of questions about what dreams they have for themselves and their country, why it makes sense to build relationships between Arab and Danish youth – and how it can be done. There was a positive debate throughout the workshop with active participation from the young people from Denmark, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Jordan. The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anders Samuelsen, also participated the workshop to enter into a dialogue with the young people on their thoughts. And the Foreign Minister was pleased to have joined: “This is a good example of how we best promote dialogue, understanding and debate. Also the critical debate. We need more of that. I think everyone who has participated today has gone home with more than they came with.”
