SSP coordinator visits five municipalities in Serbia

Newly employed SSP coordinator Ayse Kosar visited the five municipalities in Serbia, which are engaged in the pilot project to implement the Danish crime prevention network initiative named SSP in their local communities. SSP is about developing a governance system in local municipalities where key personnel from the school sector, sport sector, police sector and social sector work together to prevent crime among children and youth.

Ayse Kosar primarily wished to introduce herself to her Serbian colleagues, to provide her support and to get in dialogue with the SSP-teams in the five municipalities. After five meetings around north and southeast Serbia, she says:
“I am proud and I sincerely compliment my Serbian SSP colleagues. I saw their strong, diverse and engaged teams in the five municipalities and I got an insight in their local action plans, which are all unique, creative and ambitious. The SSP-teams believe in the project and they inspired me. This project is therefore more than a one way sharing of best practice, where a Danish model is introduced to Serbian stakeholders. It is a project based on mutual sharing of experience and inspiration”.

Furthermore the Serbian SSP-teams make an effort to inform their local communities about their projects. Below you will find an example from the meeting with the Knjazevac–Zjecar SSP-team, where the local TV station informs its viewers about the dialogue meeting between the Danish Cross Cultures office and the local SSP-team.
