CCPA launches a new programme in Ukraine to support child protection, social integration and reconciliation in Ukraine. The four-year programme “Civil Society and Public Sector cooperation for Reconciliation, Social Integration and Child Protection” is funded by the European Union and is being implemented in partnership with Ukrainian Football Federation, All Ukrainian Foundation for Children’s Rights (AUFCR) and the Streetfootballworld. The programme will benefit about 50.000 children who will be engaged in Open Fun Football Schools (OFFS) and after-school activities, 80.000 pupils and 80.000 parents who will receive education promoting social integration, respect for diversity and child protection and about 2000 coaches and coach assistants who will be trained in specific child-centered and community-based OFFS-approach to independently facilitate grassroots sports as means to stimulate community mobilization, respect for diversity, social inclusion, peacebuilding and conflict prevention. The programme covers 9 regions of Ukraine- Kharkiv, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhya, Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odessa and Kyiv and ends on September 12th 2021.

In 2024, Cross Cultures and the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) launched a new development initiative in Ukraine, financed by the New Democracy Fund (NDF). While humanitarian aid remains essential in the context of the war, this project contributed to the shift towards complementing relief with recovery, capacity building, and long-term resilience.
