Second leader and coach seminar in BIH this season

This weekend we held the second and final leader and coach seminar for CCPS – OFFS BIH with great success in Banja Vrucica.

To round off this season, we enjoyed a varied and tightly scheduled program with a high quality in the work on the field but also very fun and with time for socializing as we trained the coaches and leaders who will implement this season of Open Fun Football Schools in BIH.

The seminar was attended by 109 participants to total: leaders, coaches, instructors and staff; 20% of which were women and girls, and even more significant 36% were fresh recruits – new coaches and leaders for our OFFS. The new and younger coaches brought extra energy to seminar and especially creativity in the design and presentation of games on the field.

Program

The seminar program, like the first seminar in Teslic, consisted of practical and theoretical work. We opened the seminar with the traditional Bon-Bon Cup-TV and continued with theoretical work, where we have paid special attention to the presentation of our project and achievements through 16 years, mostly due to a large number of new participants.
Also we presented the central topic of ‘Gateway to football’ which was the central focus of the entire seminar.

Next day, we started early with pratical exercises in the morning sessions with our experienced instructors demonstrating interesting exercises. In the afternoon, the soon to be coaches showed a good understanding and desire for implementing new games bringing renewed creativity and adaption to the existing exercises.

The theoretical part of the second day was dedicated to discussing the sustainability of our project and the direction we expect the porject to develop in the local communities. Most significant was the unanimous desire amongst the leaders and coaches for the project to continue in the local communities for years to come.

On the third and final day, the new leaders and coaches was presented to the principles of the OFFS project and provided with additional guidance on organising football schools, tips on best practice rotation and exercises as well as how to be the best Fun Football coach.

Also, we held a workshop on the planned pratices of this year’s OFFS project evaluation. At the same workshop, the leaders analysed the need of their local communities and talked of the necescity of implementing the OFFS project and what effect and impact we can expect in the long run

Conclusions

We all aggreed that the seminar was very successful. The additional energy brought by the new coaches into operation was observed and welcomed in the field and in the presentation of the games, which received a new spirit. In addition, we noticed a new momentum and energy among the older more experienced instructors, who have fully embraced the idea of ??our schools as well as the gateway to football and the need to develop new exercises and games.

Of particular significance, the teams in the 11 communities involved in the project Sport + School + Police created last year remained the same. All teams are represented by the same officers, social workers and representatives of the education sector. This is of great importance, given the fact that this year there will be a special funding SSP activities in local communities, so SSP activities and cooperation among members of the local teams continues. We conclude that the SSP initiative crime prevention and conflict between young people and children, shows continued success, and more importantly are completely sustainable in local communities. Zajlju?eno has been selected as a part of the evaluation of the OFFS project, and the local community have expressed their willingness to participate in the study.

Following the seminar CCPA OFFS BiH handed out complete sports equipment for coaches, kids and for the organization of 12 Open Fun Football Schools for the season of 2013, which will be organized in the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the participation of more than 2,500 girls and boys.
