Exploring Danish Initiatives: Day 1 Recap
Sunday marked the exciting kickoff of our Moldovan delegation’s visit to Denmark, hosted by Cross Cultures. It was a day filled with insightful discussions and memorable experiences.
Our journey began with a warm welcome meeting, where representatives from various organizations and ministries, including our partners from FMF (Moldovan Football Federation), gathered to introduce themselves. Engaging discussions ensued, focusing on critical topics like child protection and creating safe environments for children while preventing youth crime. The conversations were enriching, shedding light on different approaches and strategies.
Following the meeting, we embarked on a guided walking tour of Vesterbro led by Julie, a former drug user turned advocate from Gadens Stemmer. Her personal story touched our hearts as she shared her experiences and showed us firsthand the realities of life on the streets. We explored iconic landmarks such as Rådhuspladsen, Nyhavn, and Amalienborg, covering a total of 10 kilometres on foot. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as we soaked in the sights and sounds of Copenhagen.
The highlight of the day was witnessing the enthusiasm of young students diving into the Stork Fountain, a moment of pure joy that reminded us of the simple pleasures in life.
