Winners of “We are Euro-2012 hosts” and “Live healthy!” contests were celebrated in the House of Foo

The final award ceremony for the winners of two the most large-scales on-line football contests of Ukraine – “We are Euro-2012 hosts” and “Live healthy!” – was held at the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) on Friday the 28th of September.
The first contest was conducted by the All-Ukrainian educational network “Shchodennyk.ua” – which accounts more than 1 million registered users (preliminary – pupils) – and the Ministry for Education and Science, Youth and Sports. The second one was conducted by “Shchodennyk.ua” and Football Federation of Ukraine.
The “Live healthy!” contest was implemented within Open Fun Football Schools (OFFS) and Respect your Health projects and promoted healthy lifestyle values trough football.
It consisted of three nominations: “Healthy lifestyle recipes”, photo and video contests on the topic of “School football is health”. There were a lot of children taking part in various OFFS events among contests participants.
The honorable duty of awarding the winners was given to Anatoliy Popov (First Vice-president of FFU), Oleg Kuznetsov (Head-coach of Ukrainian youth team and famous football star of Ukraine) and Yevgeniy Stolitenko (OFFS project National Coordinator in Ukraine).
First, the floor was given to Anatoliy Popov that welcomed the winners and the organizers of the school contests. The First Vice-president of FFU noted that implementation of such projects confirmed the fact that football in Ukraine currently is not only a kind of sport, but a social phenomenon that unites people. Anatoliy Popov said that children were the future of Ukraine, and one of the priorities of the newly elected FFU management will be promotion of pupils’ all-round development using football as one of the key tools. “Football is more than a game” – this is the motto of Football Federation of Ukraine and, as it was noted by the First Vice-president, it totally met core principles of grassroots development in Ukraine.
The event management expressed gratitude to all contests participants at the portal of the All-Ukrainian educational network “Shchodennyk.ua”. The work of the best pupils’ were demonstrated at the event, and their authors were awarded.
Not only did the winners get diplomas and football statuettes from FFU, but they also got footballs with A-Team players’ and Oleg Kuznetsov’s autographs, official T-shirts of the national team as well as “RESPECT your Health” and “Eat for Goals” books.
